It was 35 years ago……

The 3rd of May is a very special day for The Stick Shed. The 3rd of May 1990 marked its last day as a working wheat store. The last gang finished sweeping it out and it was over.

35 years have passed since that day and a lot has happened since.

The Stick Shed has been added to the Victorian and National Heritage lists.

The battle to save it has been fought and won and as a result Murtoa has a Trip Advisor 5 star rated attraction to be chuffed about.

Huge thanks are due to all those who had the vision and fight to firstly save it and then do the hard work to get The Stick Shed restored and back into local hands.
It has taken months and years of time and effort by a dedicated group of volunteers but clearly their hard work has been worth it.
It’s not over yet there is much more to come, stay tuned.
