Special events that occur annually at The Stick Shed.

There are two events held each year at the Stick Shed.

The Murtoa Big Weekend is held on the first weekend in October and as part of that The Stick Shed this year will host and art exhibition “The Secret of Happiness” featuring the return of Casterton artist Julie Kent who will be joined by her sister Molly Galpin. Two sisters two very different styles.

We’re also having Sing-A-Long-A-Shed. A chance to raise your voices and the Shed’s roof singing along to songs everyone knows and loves with Jack and Neil providing the music. Fun for young and old.

Between April 18th and May 18th 2027 The Stick Shed will be part of the National Trust’s Australian Heritage Festival.

In May we will celebrate Shed Day as part of the Australian Heritage Festival.  the 3rd of May 1990 was the Stick Shed’s last working day and we will celebrate its working life and its new life as an amazing must see tourist venue

The Stick Shed will be highlighting some of the significant archival items we have discovered in the past year. Watch the “News” section of this website for more details closer to the time or check out what’s on offer here https://www.nationaltrust.org.au/ahf/vic/

Saturday October 3rd as part of Murtoa’s Big Weekend the Stick Shed is excited to welcome back acclaimed Casterton artist Julie Kent for a new exhibition of her work… and this time she is bringing along her equally talented but stylistically very different sister Molly Galpin from Queensland. Julie staged a highly successful exhibition in the Stick Shed in 2023 and it’s great to welcome her back. Both Julie and Molly will be at the Stick Shed at 11.30 for the official opening of the exhibition and to talk about their work…

But wait there’s more… at 12.30 it’s Sing-A-Long-A-Shed time… Bring you family and friends and help us raise the roof. Jack and Neil will be performing the songs everyone knows and loves so there’s no excuse for not joining in and having a great time. The Stick Shed has great acoustics come along and try them out.
